The Beaglebone has 8 PWM outs. 6 from 3x EHRPWM modules (each module uses the same period clock for it’s two channels) and 2 from individual eCAP modules.

How can we use these?

Goal: Beaglebone Black has a “heartbeat” LED that periodically blinks to indicate that the system is still alive. We must override the current linux device tree to allow us to change (by essentially disabling the heartbeat function) the behavior of this LED. To further complicate this, we will use a PRU to control the heartbeat LED after its original behavior has been disabled.
